Housing at the community is available to students attending University of Colorado Denver, the Metropolitan State University of Denver, and the Community College of Denver.

The chances of acquiring the apartment of the choice you desire is determined by the timing that your completed application and signed contract is received and executed. Soonest always gets better results.  

As of the 2024-25 school year we are offering roommate matching. You will able to choose your desired roommates, search for roommates, or entirely opt out and have roommates assigned to you. See the roommate matching guide for more information.

After reviewing documentation pertaining to grants, loans, and scholarships, you’ll have the best idea of where you stand. You can request and arrange that with your institution's financial aid officer.

Typically, tuition and fees will be paid first and then the remainder will cover housing costs. Most loans that consider the expense of on-campus housing should cover the cost of housing. Please verify your Aid Package with the Financial Aid Office.

In addition to selecting a room type, first-year students are required to select a meal plan. There are two meal plan dining options to choose from. 

• The Broncos Plan: 19 meals per week and includes $40 flex spending per month
• The Nuggets Plan: 14 Meals per week and includes $60 flex spending per month

Flex spending funds can be used at Eat Food Market, Einstein's, Qdoba, or the City Heights Dining Hall. All upperclassmen residents have the option to choose from any of the 5 meal plans featured in our CU Onsite Dining Hall Meal Plans, or opt-out of the meal plan option.

The weekly allotted all-you-care-to-eat meals must be used within the week or they will be forfeited. Although non-refundable and non-transferable, unused flex spending balances can be carried over from month to month through the term of the contract. Any unused credit balance at the end of the contract term will be forfeited.

City Heights:

Roommates and suitemates are assigned based on choices made using the roommate matching function in the housing portal. City Heights residents can add their desired roommate(s) to their roommate group, search for roommates, or opt out and have roommates assigned to them.

Students are encouraged to communicate with their roommates or suitemates through the Housing portal to being building community prior to arriving at the residence hall.

Lynx Crossing:

Lynx Crossing residents can add desired roommates to their roommate group, search for roommates, or opt out and have roommates assigned to them via the new roommate matching function in the housing portal.

With the addition of our new Room Selector, you will be able to choose your room space. We recommend that whoever completed the contract first be the leader of the group to assign the group to their desired room. For more information, please see our guide to the Roommate Matching.

Roommates are classified as students who share the same bedroom space. Suitemates are classified as students who live in the same suite but do not share a bedroom.

Gender Inclusive Housing is an Opt-in Program available for our Students. By expressing your interest in Gender Inclusive Housing, you will be able to select roommate groups with other students, regardless of their gender identity. For those participating in Roommate Matching, you will only see other students who have opted into Gender Inclusive Housing. 

For those who are not interested in Gender Inclusive Housing, your contract will default to Gender Matched Housing, meaning you would only be matched with others with the same gender identity. Those participating in Roommate Matching would also only see others with Gender Matched Housing.

We then use this information to match students by their Room Gender Preferences in our housing system, but limitations allow us to do this using only three "Room Genders" for Gender Matched Housing; Male, Female, and Neutral. This means the gender you provided us will by default be translated in the following ways to Room Gender, and then you will be matched with someone else with that Room Gender: 

• Gender Male & Transgender Male > Room Gender Male 
• Gender Female & Transgender Female > Room Gender Female
• Gender Other, Non-Binary, Gender Fluid, & Agender > Room Gender Neutral 
  

Those are just the defaults, though. If, based on your identities, you would prefer to have a different Room Gender, you can change this! Here's how: 

1. Login to your Housing & Dining Portal: https://cudenver.starrezhousing.com/StarRezPortal 
2. Select "Housing Contracting" at the top of the screen, then the Housing Contract term you want to select your Room Gender for. 
3. Select the title on the left side of the screen starting with "Room Gender." 
4. Select "Save & Continue" at the bottom of the page. 

If you have concerns regarding your placement based on Room Gender and would like to share more information to help us best place you based on gender, please submit the following form by June 1: https://fs7.formsite.com/cudenverhousing/hkexndxzxx/index  

If you would like to request a specific roommate, email housing@ucdenver.edu with their Name and Student ID. Each Student needs to request, as all roommate requests must be mutual. 

  

 

Each Lynx Crossing student will select a specific room during the application and contracting process. Students who may need additional assistance selecting a room to best fit their needs should contact housing@ucdenver.edu.

City Heights Students will be assigned based on their Roommate Profile Questionnaire answers, completed in the Housing Contracting Process.

To provide sufficient time and the greatest opportunity for residents to find the perfect roommate, applications should be submitted, and contracts signed and executed as early as possible.” 

 

Students who would like to change rooms or suites must complete a Room/Suite Change Request by contacting CU Denver Housing & Dining at housing@ucdenver.edu. Please note that submitting a Room/Suite Change Request does not guarantee that the request will be granted.

Signing a contract to live on campus with CU Denver Housing and Dining is different from signing up for a dorm at another campus housing facility. The contract with CU Denver Housing and Dining is legally binding and enforceable with terms and conditions.

Please refer to our contract buyout policy and terms. You will have to submit a request to modify/terminate contract obligation form for review.

If you're 21 or older, you may consume alcohol in your apartment but not in common areas. No one under 21 may consume alcohol on the premises.

We expect all residents to obey the law and, if there are violations, contracts may be terminated and the violations reported to the university or college.

CU Denver Housing and Dining provides a gated, on-site parking lot and an overflow parking lot. Parking is $550 per semester. We offer parking on a first-come, first-served basis, as parking is limited. Our Parking Waitlist for the 2024-2025 Academic Year is located within the Contracting Process.

Wireless internet is an essential amenity provided throughout the building, besides the ability to hook up through an Ethernet cable. Outside routers are prohibited.  

In Lynx Crossing, the beds are extra-long twin size in the 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, double occupancy apartments/suites. All other apartments/suites have an 80 inch full/double sized bed.

In City Heights, all beds are extra-long twin size in all room types.

Additional furniture can be brought in. The furniture included in the apartment must stay in the apartment as we have no place to store excess furniture.

Yes, CU Denver Housing & Dining must validate enrollment status of all students wishing to renew and sign a new contract agreement.
