SURVIVING IN PLACE

EMERGENCY PLANNING AND PREPAREDNESS PROGRAMS

Surviving in Place Resources

Program Overview

Surviving in Place provides essential resources to help people with disabilities prepare for emergencies. On this page, you’ll find step-by-step guides for building emergency go kits, advice on using battery backup power systems, and training materials for Home and Community-Based Service (HCBS) providers. These tools were developed to ensure that individuals who rely on life-sustaining medical equipment have the knowledge and resources they need to stay safe in emergencies.

Thank you to Our Partners

We would like to thank the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) for their partnership in developing these important resources. Their collaboration helped ensure that emergency preparedness for people with disabilities remains a priority, and together we have created tools and trainings that continue to serve communities today.
